ALI Conversation with Tony Blinken: A New Paradigm for American Foreign Policy

ALI hosted an event with Tony Blinken, Senior Foreign Policy Advisor to the Biden Campaign discussing A New Paradigm for American Global Leadership. He was interviewed by Tom Nides, Vice Chairman, Morgan Stanley. Representatives Suzan DelBene and Brad Schneider joined the discussion.

Blinken discussed the importance of mending American alliances, reforming and investing in global institutions like the WTO and the WHO, and restoring America’s global leadership. He expounded on the importance of investing in domestic programs to train workers for the new economy and increasing investment in R&D to promote American global competitiveness.  Finally, Blinken discussed the need to restore democracy at home and inject integrity and values into American foreign policy, creating a model that other countries want to emulate.
